We’ve teamed with the British Skin Foundation to promote sun safety and offer free sunscreen for everyone this summer.
With people expected to flock to concerts and sporting events in Wembley throughout 2024, you can rest assured that we have you covered with free SPF 50 sunscreen dispensers located across the centre.
Did you know that, depending on your skin type, just ten minutes of exposure to high UV levels can cause sunburn depending on skin type. The British Skin Foundation advises UV can even penetrate through cloud cover during the summer months, so it is important you apply sunscreen whenever you’re out and about.
Whether you are planning to spend the day shopping with us, or attending one of the many fabulous events in Wembley Park, here are are some top tips from the British Skin Foundation to help you stay safe in the sun:
- Use a sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 and at least 4 stars for UVA protection
- Wear sunglasses, ideally with wrap-around lenses or wide arms, which carry CE and British Standard marks
- Generously apply sunscreen (5 teaspoons to cover the whole body) 15 to 20 minutes before going outside and reapply at least every 2 hours
- Protect your lips by using a SPF 30+ lip balm
- Find some shade whenever possible, but especially in the middle of the day, between 11am and 3pm, when the sun is at its strongest
